Pinel Advocates is delighted to announce the recruitment of James Mews as Counsel, continuing the successful growth of the business.

James joins Pinel Advocates from the States of Jersey, where he was Director of Finance Industry Development.

A multiple scholarship winning Oxbridge graduate, James has led on the development of Jersey’s regulatory and financial services laws over a 10 year period giving him a unique understanding on matters affecting banks, trust companies and regulated persons. These include the creation of the bank resolution law, the Jersey foundation, trusts amendments, AML developments, and the creation of civil fining powers.   James’ experience includes acting for the Jersey Deposit Compensation Scheme Board, and advising on regulatory issues for the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
