The new Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2019 preserves Jersey's power to impose EU sanctions and also allows Jersey to impose UK sanctions made pursuant to the UK's Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act post-Brexit, if or when it may occur.
The Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2019 repeals the Terrorist Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2011 and the United Nations Financial Sanctions (Jersey) Law 2017 and incorporates them into the new sanctions law. The Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2019 brings all of Jersey’s sanction laws together into one comprehensive law.
