On 10 June 2016, the Chief Minister’s Department published a draft Digital Policy Framework, setting out how Jersey intends to capitalize on digital technology. The deadline for comments on the draft Digital Policy Framework is 5 August 2016.
One element of the Digital Policy Framework is the commitment to developing digital innovation as a central part of the Island’s entrepreneurial private sector. A Government objective is that Jersey become a ‘testbed Island’, welcoming cutting-edge technologies. To facilitate the development of ‘digital’ as an aspect of the Jersey economy, the Government has pledged to work with the private sector to incentivise and support digital initiatives by working closely with the private sector to remove legislative & regulatory barriers and by providing further access to finance through the Jersey Innovation Fund.
